When I think of the most classy, beautiful, and elegant women of all time, I think of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly. These women exude grace, sensuality, and ease. Since I love these women so much, I often wonder what their homes would look like. No doubt they’d be just as fabulous as them! Here is my interpretation of their lives behind closed doors!
Marilyn Monroe was the bombshell of the 50′s. She is the essence of Hollywood glamor. When I think of Marilyn, I think glitz and glam, curves and fur, and pops of color. Jane Seymour’s Hollywood Swank collection, and the Lavelle collection from Aico are exactly that. Silks and fringe, jewel embellishments, curved sofa backs and dark finishes all remind me of Marilyn.
Add a pop of color with this chair from Century and you’ve got her iconic red lips right in your living room. Scratch your Seven Year Itch with Marilyn!
Now lets visit Audrey’s house. When I think of Audrey Hepburn, it’s a little black dress, sunglasses, and a long cigarette. Black and white, sleek lines, sparkles and metallics are what she’s all about. Try some of these items to create a room inspired by this Fair Lady.
Try these fabrics from Century or accessories with metallic pillows like this Marge Carson Sofa.
Finishing up our Hollywood tour is Grace Kelly. Award-winning actress and former Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly was known for being graceful, classy, and timeless.
To create a room inspired by Grace, use clean lines, muted color palettes, and feminine touches. Barbara Barry‘s Realized collection by Henredon is a great example of her style.
